As you may know, Muskie Fishing is considered one of the greatest fresh water sport fish challenges in all of North America. The scenic St. John River Valley has over 225 miles of prime habitat for Muskie Fishing. This beautiful natural environment has proven to be an unlimited resource for this sport-fishing event with many other species coexisting within the same habitat. We have created an event of international recognition attracting people from everywhere introducing them to our hospitality and to the fabulous freshwater sport of Muskie Fishing. In this website you will find all the information you need to know about the Derby and the Town of Fort Kent.

We encourage all of you to stay for the award ceremonies after the Derby. We will have a door prize for some lucky contestants, and a raffle with numerous prizes. Most important we will be asking you to fill out a questionnaire giving us feedback on this event so we can make it more enjoyable next year.

Also, for those of you who may be visiting and choose not to compete in the derby there is plenty of entertainment that can be found around town. There is shopping in and around Fort Kent, you can go for a pleasant drive throughout the St. John Valley or just relax at Riverside Park. There will be other events and activities planned for the Derby Weekend, including the Fort Kent Chamber of Commerce sponsored "Ploye Festival".
